FOCUS Improves Team Efficiency by 20%

FOCUS Brands’ creative services teams are tasked with producing national marketing campaigns to build brand loyalty and drive revenue across multiple brands, serving more than 1,800 franchisees worldwide.  They average approximately 500 individual creative tasks per month, with each task including anywhere between 1-10 deliverables. Seven of FOCUS Brands’ creative teams for five brands, plus the licensing and international departments, adopted Workfront’s marketing work management solution to better position the company for expansion and digital delivery and to drive team productivity and efficiency.

Prior to implementing Workfront, FOCUS Brands’ creative services teams used a very rudimentary, error-prone process for incoming work requests.  Paper-based processes were the norm for job requests, work assignments, auditing, and approval cycles for any national campaign—and one national campaign could easily require over 100 different deliverables. Creative teams were often lacking the information needed to begin work on creative requests, creating significant lags in projects, and updates and change requests came from a variety of sources: email, mark-ups on routing slips, and in-person communication, which often led to confusion and multiple rounds of revisions.

After an evaluation of project management tools, FOCUS Brands selected Workfront because it offered a comprehensive set of capabilities, including project management, digital proofing, and dashboard reporting. Since implementing in 2016, seven different creative teams have begun using Workfront to manage their work from start to finish. They have created standardized requests for each brand, and franchisees and their local marketing managers can make requests directly in Workfront. Also, they no longer route paper copies for artwork approvals because all edits and approvals are done digitally—which has been vital in helping deliverables and edits from getting lost. Because of the automated dashboards, creative audits, and reporting, the team can now provide accurate reporting and has the data required to demonstrate the need for additional resources.
